Welcome to the Georgia Coalition for the National Council of Negro Women, Inc (NCNW). I am Dr. Darlene Ruffin-Alexander, the State President and Convener for Georgia’s 25+ community and collegiate sections for NCNW. Our statewide membership is well over 2,000 women and men associates, who also hold active membership in the 36 affiliates of NCNW.
Our members are actively serving communities throughout the state of Georgia in the following community sections: Albany Flint River Area, Central Savannah River Area, Columbus, DeKalb, Greater Atlanta, Gwinnett, Henry/Clayton, North Fulton Area, Northwest Georgia, Rockdale/Newton, Savannah and Valdosta/Lowndes Metropolitan Area. Our collegiate sections include Albany State University, Augusta University, Clark Atlanta University, Clayton State University, Columbus State University, Fort Valley State University, Georgia State University, Georgia Southern University, Kennesaw State University, Mercer University, Morris Brown College, Savannah State University, Spelman College, University of Georgia, University of West Georgia and Valdosta State University.
As a state coalition, we proudly provide impactful initiatives and programs for our members and the community. Those programs include NCNW Day At The Capitol, The Bethune/Height Recognition Program, Dorothy Height Leadership Training and NCNW State Conferences. Also, our state initiatives align with NCNW’s Core-4 Programs of Economic Empowerment and Entrepreneurship, Education with a focus on S.T.E.A.M., Health Equity and Social Justice. Additionally, we work in conjunction with our National Office to educate our community on the importance of vaccinations through our dedicated program of Good Health WINs.
